Paul Hnatiw...the traveler
Handlebar 08 March 08/Saturday 4 p.m. “No matter what happens, no matter how bad today is, I don’t beat myself up over this kind of shit.” “People would come up to me and ask ‘Why are you so happy?’ Yoga. I can’t explain it.” “Check my email ? Are you kidding ? I’m going to Bangalore !” Paul was born and raised in Ukrainian Village. He earned his B.A. from Purdue University where much of his study focused on organizational leadership, group dynamics, and conflict management. These concepts paralleled the concepts he was to study later as a yoga student. His first class was at 7 Bridges Yoga near his current home of Woodridge where Marinda Stuckforth—one of Paul’s early inspirations, and still a close friend – teaches “awesome yoga.” Paul recently returned from 2 months in Southern India where he traveled extensively and practiced yoga every day. I was privileged to view the photographs from his trip. Paul is an excellent photographer and for two hours I was transported to that sprawling country, captivated by the landscape, the atmosphere, and the people of Southern India. Thank you Paul. I will always remember that photographic journey. Favorite Asana: Wild Man Vasistasana |
